Each province in China offers multiple type scholarships for different Universities. Scholarship coverage varies University to University.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Non-Chinese nationals in good health.

Age Limits:

Master’s applicants: Under 35 years with a Bachelor’s degree.                                     

Doctoral applicants: Under 40 years with a Master’s degree.

Language Proficiency:

Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 with ≥210 points OR proof of Chinese instruction in a previous degree.                                   

English-taught programs: English Proficiency Certificate OR IELTS.

Documents Required

Before applying you have to prepare the following documents to proceed with the application.

  • Passport Front Page (Valid for 1 year at least)
  • Highest Degree Notarized (If you are applying for a master’s degree you need a bachelor’s degree, if you are applying for PhD degree you need both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree)

Note: If your degree is not completed yet, you need HOPE CERTIFICATE from your university.

  • Transcripts Notarized (If you are applying for a master’s degree you need a bachelor’s degree, if you are applying for a PhD degree you need both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree)
  • Research Proposal (PhD) or Study Plan (Master’s)
  • Motivation Letter (Required by some universities)
  • English Proficiency Certificate
  • Two Recommendation Letters (by Associate Professors at least)
  • Foreigner Physical form
  • Police Clearance Certificate 
  • CV
  • Acceptance Letter (Optional, but mandatory for some universities)
