Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Non-Chinese applicants in good health.

Education Requirements:  Master’s applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and be under 35. Ph.D. applicants must have a master’s degree and be under 40.

International Status: Open to students outside China or graduates of Chinese universities.

Required Documents

  1. Notarized degree certificate for Bachelor’s and Master’s (or “Hope Certificate” if the degree is pending).
  2. Notarized transcripts for Bachelor’s and Master’s (last semester’s results if still in progress).
  3. Study plan or research proposal.
  4. Two recommendation letters (Associate Professors at least).
  5. Passport copy and passport-size photo.
  6. Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
  7. English proficiency certificate.
  8. No Criminal Record certificates.
  9. Acceptance letter (optional, depending on the department).

Note: Some departments may require IELTS/TOEFL scores or an acceptance letter, while others may not.

 

Application Steps

  1. Create an Account: Register at the Tsinghua Graduate Admission Portal.
  2. Complete Application Form: Fill out the online application and upload the required documents.
  3. Select Scholarship: Go to the “Scholarship” tab and choose “Chinese Government Scholarship.”
  4. Submit Application: Once submitted, Tsinghua University will review your application. If you pass the initial review, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to complete the CSC form and pay the 800 RMB application fee.
  5. Complete CSC Form: Fill out the CSC form with Tsinghua University’s Agency Number (10003 – Type B). Upload the completed form to the Tsinghua portal.
